Dining room window update

Tuesday, May 31, 2005

My husband has been busy working on the window. He masked off the inside edge, then primed and painting the outside edge.

He’s been tidying up a bit. Used the vacuum to clean up sawdust, shavings, and other miscellany… Like part of the wall! LOL Yes, that big old hole was created with the vacuum sucking […]

This is progress though Sunday evening, May 29. Getting close to the top edge of the basket. It’s about 30 stitches high and 60 wide at the farthest edges.

Dining out

“The murals in restaurants are on par with the food in museums.” -Peter DeVries

1) Do you enjoy eating out and why? Yes. A variety of reasons. When we eat out, we don’t have to cook, don’t have to plan a menu, don’t have to do the dishes. Plus, we get to eat something different than […]

Verbal vs. visual

Sunday, May 29, 2005

I’m very visual. If I can’t see something, in front of my eyes, in front of my face, I have a difficult time understanding it. My husband, OTOH, is completely and totally verbal. He doesn’t visualize anything. Doesn’t dream in pictures. Doesn’t daydream in technicolor. Doesn’t “see” anything at all in pictures. It’s difficult for […]

A reading

Sunday, May 29, 2005

My husband and I went to a reading for a new play yesterday at the Long Beach Playhouse. If you like going to plays, you’d probably like going to readings. What happens is that the play isn’t really performed so much as it is read by the actors and actresses who are sitting around in […]

Dimple Designs

Friday, May 27, 2005

Woohoo! Terry finally has a new web site to showcase his designs. I’ve been bumming since the last one disappeared several years ago. Not *all* of his designs are there yet, but most of them are, including some new releases. Yea!

And, if that isn’t enough, he has a new board where folks can come […]

Bookend

The bookend is hand carved out of a single piece of stone. The sculptor made the eyes out of a piece of chambered nautilus shell that washed up on the beach. We bought it when we were in the South Pacific one year.

A numbers game

Thursday, May 26, 2005

Are you currently reading more than one book? If so, how many books are you currently reading? I’m just reading the one book right now. I’m a one book at-a-time kind of gal. If I have more than one book on the go at any given time I will eventually (after a day or two) […]
