Had to join. Have to have that totally cool pile-o-yarn in my sidebar. Been knitting off and on since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. Grandma taught me how to cast on and do a knit stitch one day when I was in gradeschool (she was undoubtedly tired of answering questions about… Whatever… ). I knit like a fiend, until I figured out how to purl (no books, no lessons), then dropped it for some reason. Ha! Crocheted up a storm, did counted needlepoint up the kazoo, then after college took a knitting class, and it’s been downhill from there. Currently have a green wool cardigan on the needles. Knitting in the round. Spots for the ever important pockets. Cable up one side and down the back. And this is my first sweater knit with steeks in mind. Eek! I got to a point during the Superbowl where I needed to stop, think, and figure, and haven’t picked it back up again. Now it’s too warm to have all that wool in my lap… And the self-striping sock yarn is calling my name… Hm. Of course, somewhere along the way I also picked up counted cross stitch, so my knitting time has been cut down a bit. It has had to learn to share.
