Fire update
Sunday, July 31, 2005This morning it looks like it’s mostly out. When I looked just now I only saw a small stream of smoke rising between two hills. And it doesn’t look (from here) like it got anywhere near any houses. Fingers crossed.

Before the painters left on Friday they pulled all the paper off of the windows to our living room and bedroom. Woohoo! The rest of the windows are all covered still, so we didn’t see the fire that’s burning across the way until we were getting ready to retire. It was still light enough for […]
I took these photos a couple of days ago. The green paint on the house is primer. Dave thinks it’s one of the most horrible colors ever. I kind of like it. But then, I’ve always liked green. He doesn’t. Doesn’t much matter since it’ll be painted over with another color anyway. This is the […]
I bought a sweatshirt for my husband some years ago that says, “Celebrate freedom. Read a banned book.” The shirt then goes on to list ten books that were currently banned somewhere in these United States. Here are a few examples: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, The Catcher in the Rye by […]
I was a bad girl the other night and ordered more sock yarn. Tee hee. It arrived today. I got two balls each of Parade in plum and Simple Stripes in storm. I also got the Sock It To Me shoe size/sock length guide. This guide looks way cool. Ok. I’m all set. Now it […]
What is your most unique/interesting stitching quirk? (This could be something concerning the way you stitch, how you organize your stash, etc.)
I was sitting here reading other responses to this question, and I didn’t think I really had any stitching quirks. I mean, I don’t organize Anchor floss by DMC number (I Love that!), I […]

I must have been in late grade school or in junior high when we went up the coast […]
I actually got a lot of Santa’s face done in the new colors. Showed him to Dave. We have a winner! Yippee! I’ll post a picture probably next weekend. I’m so relieved that the new colors are working out. Whew! I’ll also post my conversion then, just in case anyone out there wants to duplicate […]
Well, I’ve been stitching away at the Santa stocking for Dave, and I ran into a major skin-color glitch. I stitched up Santa’s forehead using the colors that were called for, and it looked awful. We both hated it. Argh. So, I let it stew for a bit, while I stitched more of his hair […]
What kind of storm is the most scary to you? I like storms.
In your opinion, what is the perfect outdoor temperature? If I’m busy doing things, I love it when it’s in the mid 50s to low 60s. If I’m just hanging out, not doing anything, it can be as warm as the low 70s, […]
