Painting update August 17, 2005
Wow. They’re here today. What a concept. The subcontractor actually showed up this morning, too, for a walk-through. He’s planning on showing up tomorrow to get the final check. Ha ha. Most of the stuff on Dave’s list still hasn’t been addressed, though they’ve actually been here for about 5 or 6 hours today (they left just after 4). It’s going to be at least another day before all the little things, like painting the undersides of the decks, are handled. So, pictures. They did take the paper off my other window today. Here’s the guy in the process of tearing off the paper. He’s kneeling on the scaffolding outside my window. It’s wonderfully bright in here again!
The deck that they weren’t originally going to paint is all nicely painted now. There are a couple of little spots that need touching up, but other than that it looks great.
Do wish they’d taken more care of my etagere when they moved everything around on the deck. It’s filled with heavy potted plants, and they dragged it across the deck. More than once. So, naturally, some of the legs got bent. Arg. If that’s the worst of the damage, well, that and the dead plants, I guess I can live with it.
