Mercedes Lackey

I’ve been having such a fun time reading the stories of the Heralds in Mercedes Lackey’s books, that I had to go find out if she has a web site, in hopes that I can find the order of more of these books on Valdemar, the Heralds, and their Companions. She does: Mercedes Lackey. And here’s the Chronology of Valdemar. With the exception of one volume, which I have in a set of leather fantasy books that I bought ages ago, all the volumes we have were published in or before 1992, when my mother in law, a compulsive reader and fan of all fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, poetry, and just about anything else she could lay her hands on, passed away. We inherited her library, and it’s amazing what all is in it. A lot of fabulous books. I think it will take a lifetime to read them all, especially when I get part way through a series, and fine that I simply must go buy all the books I can find that have been published since her passing. And Mercedes Lackey’s series is proving, once again, that I’m sunk, lost, hopeless, and just as compulsive a reader as my mother in law was.

I have heard a lot of good things about Mercedes Lackey books but I haven’t actually read any. Do you have any recommendations on a good one to start with?

I started with Heralds of Valdemar trilogy, which just happens to be the suggested spot to start for this series:
    - Arrow of the Queen
    - Arrow’s Flight
    - Arrow’s Fall

Check out the link I found for the Chronology. For the most part, I’m going to try to read them in the order published. This will make me bounce back and forth in time a bit, that I’ve always found that to be kind of fun.
