Special challenges

What is the most challenging specialty stitch you have ever stitched?

My stitching roots being in embroidery when I was old enough to hold a needle. Mom did a lot of crewel work back then, and I wanted to, too. I’ve stitched a lot of specialty stitches over the years, including a needlepoint stitch sampler when I was in high school—yup, Mom still has the pillow! So far, I haven’t found any stitch to be particularly difficult. On occasion I’ve had to concentrate a bit more, say for heart-shaped rhodes stitches or something, but I’ve always meet them head on and plowed right through them. Different stitches are fun to do, and can add a special accent to things.
