I quit - SBQ question September 28, 2005
Have you ever just quit a project while in the midst of it? (We’re not referring to UFOs here, rather projects that you know that you’ll never work on again.) Why? What did you do with it—throw it out, give it away, put it away?
I don’t remember ever putting something away with the intention of never going back to it. There are a couple things that I will probably never finish, but when I tucked them away I don’t think that was the intention. One notable one: a bell pull with some blue morning glories on it. It was years ago now, but I still remember, the more I worked on it, the more I came to dislike the fabric, until I simply couldn’t bear it any longer, and tucked it away in a drawer, where it resides to this day. I hardly have anything left to do on it, and keep meaning to pull it out and finish it, but then I take a look at that fabric, and shove it back into the drawer.
