Stitching and knitting October 24, 2005
I’ve been knitting
right along on Kiri. Having a ball. I know, I know. You’ve heard it before all over other blogs, but it is a fun pattern to knit! I’m almost done with my seventh repeat. Probably would be on row nine or ten by now, but realized more than half way through row eight that regardless of the fact that I was supposed to be knitting row eight, I was actually knitting row ten. Argh. It was way too dark in the family room, so I put the thing down. I’ll tink it later today when I have some light, then I’ll re-knit row eight the right way. I swear. Sometimes I think I’d be dangerous if I had two brain cells to rub together. I know. I’ll blame it on being out too late two nights in a row. Yeah. That’s it. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. ![]()
Yes, Amble looks almost exactly the way it did two weeks ago. I’ve started decreasing for the toe, but that’s it. Bah. Well, I did figure this would happen when I started Kiri.
It doesn’t feel like I’ve gotten much done on Santa this week. I have made some progress, though. It seems like I’ve been stitching his beard forever. I managed to work my way
down one side so I could get a start on his hand. You can sort of see his finger (index finger) sticking up there near the lower right. And, I finally got to the store and picked up the shades of white that I’d run out of, so there are no longer those huge and unsightly gaps—to my eye, anyway—up by the bottom of his mustache. I even got the mustache finished and outlined, and a little of his red suit on either side of the design outlined.

It all looks great!! I’m always amazed how lace looks like a tangled blob, but when you block it out it looks awesome! I’m glad the pattern is so much fun.
Thanks for stopping by today–honestly, I had the same reservations about parking(what if everything gets tangled up)–knock on wood that hasn’t happend to me yet. The confetti on that piece was driving me insane and this at least takes some of the stress out of stitching it
Give parking a shot on something small–see if you like it. Happy stitching!
