Kiri is blocked

I laid Kiri out on the Kiri before blockingbed the other day to block it. Here it is damp, and looking like something the cat dragged in. As meticulous as I normally am with knitting, I’m not with blocking, for some mysterious reason. So, no measuring devices were used, and I fiddled with it a lot. I fiddled a lot when I first laid it out, went away, came back fiddled some more—several times. I fiddled with it so long, I think it must have been nearly dry by the time I was done. The two sides aren’t even, and in spite of the fact that I went up three needle sizes to bind off, most of the points leave something to be desired.

But I love it. I did wonder if perhaps I’d gotten too impatient toward the end and should have done more repeats… I probably could have done one or two more, however the finished shawl drapes nicely over my shoulders, and is wider than my arm span as it is, so I think it’ll be just fine. It’s so light and airy, it feels like I don’t even have it on. I love this yarn!

Ooooo! I love it. I just love how lace blossoms when it blocks–now I need to get my Beginner’s Triangle done :)
