Frogging

Saturday, November 19, 2005

How do you feel about staying totally true to a pattern? Do you feel that you have to rip out stitches to fix a mistake or do you feel it’s acceptable to incorporate a mistake into the design?
Some patterns I am completely comfortable with making changes to, some minor, like the bead-color change I did […]

Camera update

Saturday, November 12, 2005

Went by Fry’s today, and picked up a new battery for our digital camera. Ouch. $50 plus tax later, we put it in the camera, charged it up, and lo and behold! It works. Ta da. Whew. So glad that’s all it was.

This will undoubtedly be my last post for a bit… Heading off […]

Kiri and Santa

Friday, November 11, 2005

This blogging without photos thing is for the birds. I decided to chance it this afternoon, collected everything in one spot by a window, and took a couple pictures. This stupid camera battery—still hoping it’s the battery and not the camera—I swear. Last time I turned it on for only a couple minutes to take […]

Kiri update

Thursday, November 10, 2005

Still plugging away at it. Wish I could count on my camera battery to live long enough to take a few photos. Last night (or was it this morning?) I finally finished up the first ball of yarn. It was close! I finished up the purl row with somewhere between one and two yards of […]

When comparing large projects versus small projects, which do you get more excited about finishing?
I definitely get more excited about finishing large projects. It takes so long to do them that it’s quite a feeling of accomplishment when they’re done. That said, it’s not like I don’t enjoy doing small projects, too. In fact, sometimes […]

Felted clogs and socks and slippers

Tuesday, November 8, 2005

Here I go again. Reading things. Getting interested. Wanting to start more projects. Though clogs can’t take that much yarn, can they? It’s even possible that I might have yarn laying around here somewhere that would work. I wonder if I have enough Galway left from knitting that Aran… And something wool to keep my […]

The Manolo No-Poncho Pledge

Tuesday, November 8, 2005

I think I’m a little late getting on this bandwagon, but my excuse is that I only just found it on Jessica’s blog!

“I, Laura, swear on the head and/or the grave of my sainted granny to never wear, buy, knit, crochet, or fashion from the old throw rug, the poncho. And if the poncho […]

I voted

Tuesday, November 8, 2005

Today California had a special election. I voted. Did you?

And since I really don’t like discussion political issues, that’s about all you’ll hear from me on the subject. Except this: if you are a California resident, please get out and vote!

A pirate’s life for me…

Tuesday, November 8, 2005

Thanks, Kim! Fun quiz. Arrr.

You’re Captain Barbossa, or should I say, First-mate Barbossa. Aren’t you a little old to be playing pirates? With the Captain’s hat seems to come being cruel, mean, and cursed. Ah well, better you than Jack.

Which POTC character are you?
This quiz was made by alanna.

Stuff

Monday, November 7, 2005

Until you pointed him out to me, Kim, I hadn’t seen the new Bowser stuff on HAED. Wow. I especially like Lotus Wood—naturally, lots of green and purple. Have you seen one of the other new designers, Christensen? I recognize his Old World Santa and Wendell from who-knows-where, someplace… A long time ago. I’ve seen […]
