I’m sick December 6, 2005
I hate being sick. Not that anyone likes it, but… You know. It’s icky. My brain’s full of snot. So far—knock on wood— it hasn’t gotten to my nose, it’s only in my sinuses, but still. Ick. I have a cough, too, and my ear canals feel all full. I keep wanting to clear my ears, but it doesn’t really do anything. And I just feel, well, sick. I’m being a good girl and getting more vitamin C than normal, echinacea, my yummy cough medicine—honestly, the stuff tastes so good it’s almost worth having a cough, but not quite. Last night was awful. Constantly woke up to roll over because I couldn’t breathe, or was too hot, or too cold. Bleh. I hate being sick.
Plus, I haven’t cross-stitched or knitted a single stitch in a week. I’ve had my nose in a book through lunch, when I usually watch either Perry Mason or some other re-run at lunch and stitch. And Dave’s been sick of TV, so we haven’t been watching anything in the evenings during or after dinner… We’ve been reading instead. You know, no matter how hard I try, I just can’t stitch and read at the same time. Dave mentioned last night that now that I have light on my side of the couch upstairs, that I could just bring my stitching up there to do it. Yeah. He’s right. But right now it just seems like too much trouble. Sigh.

This mess must be going around everywhere. The four of us have been sick, too. Ugh! Of course, since I can’t sleep I’ve knit. Who knows if I’ll ever match my cold med induced gauge when I’m well. Hope you feel better soon!

I’m so sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well. The last two weeks I’ve had a cold and cough and it is no fun. I hope you feel better soon.
