Stitching for charity December 7, 2005
Have you done any charity stitching, been in one, or would like to organize one?
So far, I have not done any stitching or knitting for charity. Some day, perhaps, when I have more time for such things, and can stitch things for charity, as well as my own projects.
When I think of charity projects, I always remember my mom’s stories of her mother during WWII. Grandma knit squares for the war effort. The squares were all the same size, and when done and handed in someone else would sew them together to make blankets for the soldiers. I guess any time Grandma wasn’t cooking or cleaning, she could be found knitting squares. I remember being amazed that she even knit them in the dark at movie theaters. Yea Grandma!
