- Do you read Christmas-themed (or Hanukkah, or?) stories this time of year? If so, what kind (religious, mystery, etc.)? Occasionally. I have a small collection of stories by favorite mystery authors who have written special stories for this time of year. I also have a volume, Murder for Christmas, of short stories by a bunch of different mystery authors. Every year or two I remember, and am in the mood, to read the next story or three from it. It’s taking me so long to read it that by the time I finish I’ll be able to start again, and be surprised by the endings!
- Do you have any stories you traditionally read this time every year? If so, what? How did your tradition start? No, I don’t. We don’t. We probably would read about dear old Mr. Scrooge every year if we had kids, but since we don’t we never started that little tradition. We do watch tons of Christmas movies every holiday season though, including at least four or five different versions of Mr. Dickens classic. So far this year we’ve watched Pocketful of Miracles (how can you go wrong with Bette Davis, Glen Ford, and Ann Margaret?), The Santa Clause, and Christmas in Connecticut. We probably have 20 more to go…
