The moebius January 17, 2006
Progress on Mom’s moebius scarf. I forgot to measure it when I was upstairs taking this picture, but I
think it’s about six inches between the needles now. And it’s looking even smaller around, because the center hole is filling up with knitting. I don’t dare send a photo to Mom now. She’ll doubt my insistence that it will fit over her head just fine. I’ll show her later. When it’s done, and she can see that it worked out. If you look carefully at the picture, you’ll see a few, um, loops near the center of the thing. My fault. I have to admit to having cast on a bit erratically in spots. Too excited, or weirded out, or something. And this yarn was difficult to get started. All the little chenille bits tend to make it stick to itself and not always pull properly through… If they’re too visible when it’s done I’ll see if I can do something about it. Maybe. If not, I don’t think anyone will really notice. Or if they do, I’ll just tell them that I made the loops on purpose. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Oh, yeah. And now that it’s actually visible, I’m knitting two rows then purling two rows. Getting bored, though. I think the next couple times I hit a knit row sequence I’ll do a line of YOs and K2togs. Ought to liven things up a bit, and make a pretty little pattern around one edge. Lace plan subject to change without notice. We’ll see how the chenille behaves…

I’ve been anxious to cast on myself… What type of yarn are you using for yous and which pattern? I was goign to use kids silk I’m sure the cast on and a few rows will drive me completely incsane! Yours looks great!
