It’s here! It’s here! January 19, 2006
Oooh. I’m in knitterly heaven, I swear I am. Kaffe Fassett’s Pattern Library just arrived, and it’s glorious. It’s jam packed with 195 different knitting motifs in Kaffe’s inimitable style. Lots of color, free-flowing forms, geometrics, flowers. I think I have now officially narrowed down my list of possible patterns for my sweater to three from this book: Tapestry Leaf, Muriel’s Tall Flowers, and Rows of Poppies. They’re all big. They’re all bold. But I don’t think any of them is too big for the cardigan I have in mind. With the possible exception of Tapestry Leaf, I think they will all look good in the colors I look best in: rich bluey reds, greens, blues, purples, black, red browns, no pastels or pinks or light colors, thank you very much. Color needs to be bold, or I’ll fade away.
Ooh. I’m so excited. Need to spend more time with this book. Need to dig out the half dozen or so hanks of Rowan I’ve been saving for this very occasion—the ones I bought one or two at a time years ago. Then when ready, will need to take myself and my birthday money down to my LYS.
Better get hopping on that moebius for Mom. Don’t want it to get lost in the shuffle…
