This and that

First off, I want to deliver a huge Thank You to everyone who’s commented in my blog the last day or two. I’m agog. I’m aghast. I’m tickled pink, and pleased as punch. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I do wonder sometimes, how I get on these lists. I’ve been receiving email about a Knit & Crochet Show in Oakland, California in April. Looks like it’ll be fun. They’re having another show this summer in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

Cloudy sky 2006-02-17Finally. Some clouds. These are the first real clouds we’ve had in weeks. Only a 20% chance of rain today. Supposed to be 50% chance tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for us. Things are terribly dry here. We really need the rain. But just wait. As soon as the first drop falls from the sky, people here will complain bitterly about it and want it to go away. I’m definitely living in the wrong place. LOL

Kim, thank you for the heads up on the new freebie on HAED’s board. I downloaded it just a few minutes ago. Yup. I like this one better than the last one, too.

RheLynn, your kittens are adorable!

Yes, patternnuts, I knit and cross stitch. Crochet, too. My mother taught me to embroider and do crewel work when I was old enough to hold a needle. A year or two later I learned how to crochet from a book, after my grandmother taught me how to do a chain stitch. I crocheted my first granny square afghan when I was in third grade (I still have it!). Grandma taught me to knit at about the same time. I haven’t crocheted anything for a while, but will soon, as I want to make up a quick afghan for a friend who’s expecting her second baby.

In case anyone wondered, yes, Dave and I seem perfectly suited. On Valentine’s Day we exchanged loving cards, and silly tokens… I gave him the pillow, and he gave me the M&M.

That is a fantastic picture of the clouds.

It’s a shame I don’t knit or crochet (I’ve often thought about learning, though)… I only live about 40 minutes from King of Prussia.

Gorgeous photo, Laura! Thanks for sharing. Can you post when there are new HAED gifties? I don’t read the board and I’ve never tried a HAED design because they intimidate me, but the little ones may be a good way for me to try my hand. :)

beautiful cloud pictures… somedays I do miss the open spaces of North Dakota (believe it or not) but then I see the trees overhead and know I am at home here, too ;o)

I was taught very simply to crochet as a child by my mother. For a short spell I did, then stopped.I have bought a book on learning how to crochet and knit, picked up yarns- now just for the time!
