Mom’s moebius February 23, 2006
It’s knit, washed,
blocked, the ends are woven in, and it’s winging its way to Mom, even as I type this. Yes, it’s true. The moebius scarf I knit for Mom is officially finished. Yippee! I was going to make it wider, but I hated knitting with this yarn. It felt icky, and after every half hour or so I’d have to go wash my hands to get all the dye off of them. Once washed, the yarn was silky and soft, no icky feeling at all. I’m thinking what I’ll need to do before I knit with this yarn again is to wind it off the cone into a hank, and wash the sucker it, and rewind it into center pull skeins. Unfortunately, I don’t have a cone winder, or I’d just wrap it back onto the cone. Ah well. This entire project will be left for another day. In the meantime, I’m just glad the scarf is done!

It turned out great, Laura! I’m glad that it softened up in the process of washing it.
I still cannot believe how much dye was in that yarn!
