Collecting authors

I’m finally answering these. It’s been a busy week! One of these days I’ll take pictures of some of my beautiful books to share, too.

  1. Are you currently collecting any authors? Why? We’re on a, uh, limited income for the time being, so no new books for me. But if I could buy books, I’d finish out my Mercedes Lackey collection (at least the one series I’ve been reading), I’d get three more David Eddings books (the Tamuli trilogy), the Elizabeth George stories I’m missing, same with Sue Grafton, Minette Walters, Elizabeth Peters (her Amelia Peabody books), Anne Perry’s Monk series, and probably a few others that I’m not remembering off hand.
  2. Do you have all of their books? If not, why not? Most of the authors I listed above I have most of their books. Some of them are quite prolific writers, and so it can be difficult to keep up.
  3. Did you buy all the books in the collection at the same time, or did you buy a book here, a book there? Mostly I buy books here and there, one, two, three at a time. We have so many here already, that I have to be careful, and go with a list so that I don’t buy something I already have.
  4. Have you read the whole collection? If not, why not? Of the authors listed above I’ve read everything I own at least once. Some of those books will get read numerous times, and the paperback editions of the Eddings series The Belgariad is starting to wear out, because I’ve read it so many times now.
