I am undone February 28, 2006

Look at all those wonderful comments you’ve all left about my purple rose. Thank you, one and all. I really loved working on this pattern. Well, after I changed to this fabric I did, anyway. I so loved it, that I decided to jump in and stitch another Silver Lining pattern right away. But not another rose. Not yet, anyway. I pulled out my pansy patterns, and shoved them in Dave’s face (figuratively, not literally). Please choose. He chose. It was easy. Stepsisters won out. Hands down. So far I’ve pulled two fabrics that are definite maybes. I need to do a little more digging to see what I have. Then I’ll present those to Dave, and see what he likes best. Letting him have a little choice now and then in what I make doesn’t hurt any, and it lets him feel more involved, which he likes. ![]()
One sock done
I was all excited, loving the lace pattern, knitting along, not realizing until I got to the toe that I’d done too many pattern repeats. LOL So, I frogged the bit of toe that I’d knit, and one pattern repeat, then immediately started decreasing for the toe again. This time I got it right. Ta da! The results: One perfectly fitting purple sock. All Dave ever says is, “It’s purple.” Strong grasp of the obvious, that one.

“It’s purple” LOL! That’s the sort of thing Martin would say! His usual comment when I show him something is “What’s it going to be?” Well, it’s a cross stitch picture - is it supposed to ‘be’ anything else?! LOL!

I can’t wait to see your SL pansy pattern develop. I love them!

The sock looks wonderful!
My DH has the same sorts of comments. And I like to involve him in my hobbies in the same way as you. And after all, if I’m going to put the finished things up on the wall he has to look at them too, so I think it’s only fair that he gets to have a say every now and then.

I love the lace pattern in that sock, as well! I can see how you would get caught up in it. Looks great! And I can’t wait to see those pansies bloom. They’re my favorite flower!
