Ricki’s bane March 19, 2006
This cute little black ball
of fluff isn’t all that much bigger than Ricki. The difference in their sizes is less than ten pounds.
We really thought (and hoped) that Ricki would play Alpha Cat, and give the Colonel the old one-two, but such is not the case. Ricki’s been living in the master bedroom the entire week, except at night when the Colonel is sharing close quarters with my father-in-law, Bill, in their bedroom, or the hour or two per day when Dave, Bill, and the Colonel go out in the car.
This is one of Ricki’s free periods when the Colonel is out of the house, and we’re spending some quality time together. You can tell how impressed she is with Colonel’s toy being there (not), and her toys all being out of reach so Colonel doesn’t destroy them (sigh). In addition to terrorizing my poor cat, the dog managed to destroy her favorite mouse in the first fifteen minutes he was here. Poor Ricki. The end is in sight, however. Bill’s planning on leaving for home early on Tuesday morning. Then… Freedom! Yes, dear Ricki, he will take the dreaded d-o-g with him when he goes.

Ricki’s beautiful! I’m glad she’ll be having a rest now. She must be glad to have her house back. :)
