Yarn!

Friday, April 28, 2006

I did it! I finally decided which Kaffe Fassett sweater to knit, and bought the yarn for it today. Woohoo! It was down to two different designs when I went into my local yarn shop, Velona in Anaheim Hills. I love this store. She has so much yarn, it’s absolutely amazing. Awe inspiring, really.

So […]

Blog-versary

Friday, April 28, 2006

It’s my one-year blog-versary today. I can’t believe I’ve lasted this long. When I started I honestly didn’t think I’d have that much to say or share. Little did I know. As of this posting, my blog has an amazing 12,484 hits. You all quite take my breath away. Thank you so much for visiting […]

Thank yous

Wednesday, April 26, 2006

You have all been wonderful. Your outpouring of love and support means more to me than you could know. You’re all the best. Thank you, very much.

Terri, love, I’m so glad you have seen a couple more doctors! Additional opinions are so important. I hope to see you on Saturday at Sue’s.

Kim, aren’t those sheep […]

A couple more blinkies

Wednesday, April 26, 2006

Angela (By the way, where’s your blog? I want to visit!), mostly I find blinkies that I like on other people’s blogs. They rarely say where they got them, but if they do, I go look at the creator’s web page to see if there’s anything else there that I like. Most people just give […]

Scarves

Wednesday, April 26, 2006

Ooh, I think I finally know what to do with that ball of Bernat Disco that I got for free last year. Inspiration comes from Knit Picks, and this scarf pattern that they’re advertising for Mother’s Day. Now to dig around and see if I have anything that I can knit it with to make […]

More diversions

Tuesday, April 25, 2006

Nicki, girlfriend, that’s an awesome little tote pattern. The price is certainly right (free). I’ve saved it. I think I have the perfect yarn for it… Some bright wool in different colors that a friend sent to me. And I’ll be able to use my new little pink sheep marker.
Pomatomus progresses
Yup. The first sock […]

Thank you all so very much for your kind and sympathetic messages. It helps a lot to know you’re all out there. Web friends are awesome.

Since a couple of you asked, I’m expected at the hospital on Wednesday, May 3, at 7 a.m., and the surgery is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Pacific […]

Don’t want to think about it

Monday, April 24, 2006

I’m good at avoidance, especially (usually, anyway) avoiding thinking about things that upset me—it’s one thing that makes me a superb procrastinator. But I’ve reached a point where I haven’t been able to avoid thinking about next week. See, I’ve been so good at avoiding thinking about it, that most of you are going, “Uh, […]

Bluefish blues

Friday, April 21, 2006

I should know by now that when a pattern tells me to stop two inches before the end of my foot to start the toe decreases that I either have to start the decreases sooner, or I have to be much more aggressive in my decreasing. Yes. You’ve guessed it. I must frog the end […]

Six degrees of booking

Friday, April 21, 2006

This was suggested by Mary.
Connect any six books in your library to each other by any way you want. One book will remind you of another because the author’s name is similar, a fictional character shows up in someone else’s book, another author is talked about by characters in a book, maybe the same friend […]
