Winding the Skeins
Well… I only
put in about 400 stitches last week. Egads. At this rate it’ll take the rest of my natural life to finish this piece. Good thing I like it. LOL I’ve now stitched to the far right edge of page one. I’m nowhere near the bottom edge of the page. It’ll take me a while to get there, especially at this rate.![]()
Dining room window
Dave’s been plugging away at the drywall patching/mudding in the dining room. From a distance, it is looking quite good now, though once you’re close at all you can tell that the texture and color are completely different.
While he had the pot of mud out, Dave also worked on the hole in the hallway wall where the intercom used to be, and in the bathroom over the mirror.

More yellow, er… gold
While I have Coco helping me out during the day and providing moral support, Dave has Le Mutt to help him out. Here Mutt’s providing plenty of suggestions to help Dave with his Google searches.
Can you tell that I’m starting to run out of yellow things in my house? I told you there wasn’t much of it around here. I did manage to find a couple more items, however. The wonderful sea turtle picture that Mom gave us a couple years ago, and my Old Lady gicle, drawn
by Chuck Jones. Yes, the Chuck Jones who drew Bugs Bunny, Wile E. Coyote, and all the rest also did serious art.
From the lack of golds and yellows in my house, you’d never know (or maybe you would) that I grew up in a household that was all golds. Everything, or so it
seemed, was some shade of gold: the carpet throughout, the walls, the tile around the fireplace, the tile in the bathrooms, the sofas, the seat covers on the dining room chairs, the needlepoint sampler I did for Mom. Everything was gold until you got to my room, down at the end of the hall. When you turned and looked in, it was always quite a shock, as my room was all green and bright flowers. After running the gold gauntlet, I needed a cool refuge, I guess.
By the way, Margene, sweetie, the chicks were not harmed to make that picture. The color was applied on the computer, I presume with Photoshop or something like it. I suspect the original photograph was black and white, and all color was added after the fact. ![]()

How does one go about counting the stitches completed? Do you actually count them as you go (yikes, I frog enough )? Or is there some simple system?
Was wondering what I am averaging at a sitting…..

Good patch jobs, Dave!
