Got an email from eBay today. Seems I’ve had my account there for nine years. Where has the time gone? Mike, are you out there? It’s all your fault, you know! LOL
Someone over on the Townsend SAL shared a link to a cool kilt sock pattern. Can’t say I’m up to knitting knee socks any time soon, but I’m thinking I should be able to adapt this to a yarn and sock-length that I’m willing to deal with without too much trouble. I think.

This all should be fairly self-explanatory. In no particular order: Bookends and books, art-deco lamp with picture mat and pool cues, oak floor, a pile of baskets (I especially love the bottom two), and one of the few truly yellow objects: silk flowers.
Impish sort that he is, this pocket gopher has been eating all my catnip plants… and everything else in the front yard that’s small enough for him to get his teeth around. Pesky little varmint. And cheeky. We didn’t mind him so much when he was in the backyard eating all the fennel plants, but […]
I’m trying to clear out some of my stash to make way for something new. I’d desperately love to get a second ball of STR, and this is the only way I can do it. I have three single balls of sock yarn left over from previous projects. I just bought too much! None of […]
I finished the gusset decreases the other day, and am swimming down towards the toe. I tried it on last night and showed Dave, and he still thinks the pattern is cool. Amazing. No, “Yes, Dear. It’s nice, Dear.” this time, but actual liking and admiration. He likes how the pattern looks even more like […]
Though I can all but guarantee that I won’t be starting any projects this month that feature yellow or orange in them, I thought it might be kind of fun to join Lolly’s Project Spectrum. Last month I resisted, but only barely. I’ve had tons of fun looking at colorful photos on other people’s blogs, […]
Along with everyone else, I got the email yesterday evening announcing the release of the spring ‘06 Knitty magazine. So far my favorite patterns are the T-Twist Tee, Convertible (a wrap with a pretty lace pattern), Hedera (another interesting sock pattern from Cookie A.), and the knit nautiloids. I’m not planning on knitting the nautiloids, […]
It didn’t seem like I was able to get much time in on Winding the Skeins over the last week, but I did get about 900 stitches in, which is good. Not up to Kim’s 400 stitches per day, but I eek out what I can. ;-) I now have a block of about 60 […]
