What is your favorite specialty stitch? Which one is your least favorite? Why?
My all-time favorite specialty stitch is a daisy chain. I’ve loved making them since I was a kid and first learned to embroider. Single daisy stitches are fun, too, but those chains are just so totally cool, especially when I manage to get all the links the same size!
My least favorite stitch? Don’t know if this really qualifies, but I have a love/hate relationship with French knots. I love them, really I do, but I so often have them flopping to one side or the other that I regularly replace them with beads. However, I’ve since learned how to do a different knot, I think it’s a continental knot. The finished knot looks a lot like a French knot, but it’s easier to for me to get consistent results with it.

I too prefer colonial knots to french knots. Once I got the knack of them, they turn out consistently time and time again. I will be substituting them for french knots in the future.

OMG–your least favorite stitch is the same as mine(I don’t love them in the slightest bit though)–curse the French Knot, I say!
