Fiber Dreams

I think I must have mentioned at some point that my maternal grandmother’s favorite color was purple. She decorated her living room around her love of purple—though her decorator wouldn’t let her do the entire room in that color, yes huge thanks are due to that decorator. Grandma also had a few other purple bits scattered about the house. One of them was this lovely area rug that she purchased when she and Grandpa lived in the Philippines. I apologize for not showing you the whole thing. I didn’t feel like moving the solid oak coffee table that sits on the rug. And yes, this lovely area rug would look much better on a hardwood floor. Don’t think that hasn’t occurred to me. Alas, hardwood floors are at a premium in our house, unlike this ghastly white carpet. Would that it were the other way around. I’m sure that, wherever she is, Grandma understands, and knows that when I am able, I will once again lay her gorgeous purple rug on a nice wood floor. In the meantime, I still enjoy having it, using it, every single day. Thank you, Grandma.
