On coffee
Michelle said,
I think the closer you get to Seattle the more guilty you’re supposed to feel about not drinking coffee. I’m still 3 hrs away and I do believe I’m the only person in the entire STATE of Oregon that doesn’t drink coffee.
I know how you feel, Michelle. Most of my life I’ve been the only person I know who doesn’t like coffee. I’ve known a few people who don’t drink it, but that’s completely different, often having more to do with over indulgence than anything. I currently have not one but two (!) friends here in southern California who don’t like coffee. I think it must be some sort of record. Since you left your comment I’ve wondered about starting a new web ring for people who stitch or knit and don’t like coffee, but I suspect we’d be the only two people in the ring.
On books
I tell people that we have a lot of books, but people often don’t think that I have a lot of books. Now you know. Of course you can come visit, too, Judy. Nicki said,
The most amazing thing is that you have space on some of those shelves for more too!
It’s deceiving, girlfriend. There are books piled and stacked in more places than I can count that, if properly shelved, would use up all those empty spots you see, and then some. Miss88keys said,
Have you ever considered starting your own library?
Nope. Dave and I are both fierce when it comes to getting our books back in a timely manner as well as in the same condition as when they left home. More often than not we’ll buy someone a book rather then lend them one of ours.
Since you’re probably curious, most of the books are one of three genres: science fiction, fantasy, or mystery. We have a nice collection of coffee table books, as well as two whole shelves on one of the cases upstairs of cookbooks, tons and tons of computer books (mostly Dave’s, though I have some, too), and one small case full of theology books that all belonged to Dave’s mom—may she rest in peace. There are also a handful or so of general fiction, adventure, kids’ books, poetry, espionage, reference books, and some I’m sure I’m not remembering.

Count me in to the stitch/knit/no coffee crowd. I’ve tried many times but just can’t quite get a taste for it.
A few years ago I was offered a contract job at Starbucks and I asked if my lack of coffee-drinking would be a problem ;) (I didn’t take the job, I didn’t want the Phx - Seattle commute!)

You can add me, as well. The stuff smells attractive, but it’s not my cup of tea (tea is)! ;)

Well I can’t do without coffee! I’d rather give up chocolate, alcohol, anything else :) But I do have a very good friend who doesn’t like it at all - and she stitches too!

Lurker/newbie here…I could be part of that “stitchers without coffee” group as well!
I was the only one of my group of friends in college who didn’t have a coffee IV drip permanently attached during exam weeks. Never did acquire that particular taste…I’d rather have a Coke and a candy bar!

Wow! The no-coffee ring would have five members. I can’t drink the stuff either. In the summer it’s water and raspberry lemonade and in the winter I drink gallons of hot chocolate.
