Ready, set, rotate

The last Winding the Skeins - 2006-07-24couple times I picked up Winding the Skeins, I didn’t get much done. I felt listless and out of sorts. Once I decided to start Stepsisters and got going, I got a ton done. True to form, I started at the top left corner of the design. I got all those lovely green leaves stitched on Saturday, while trying not to become a fried egg on my couch. I couldn’t believe how hot it was… The hall thermometer read 97F at one point. I don’t even want to know how hot it was in the kitchen. I do know how hot it was in the garage, as Dave told me: 107. Stupid hot. High temperature (for the day) records were broken all over southern California on Saturday, some that had been standing for the last forty-five years. That’s how hot it was. Mother Nature wasn’t happy with just making us hot, it was quite humid, too, upwards of forty-five percent or so. Ick. Which was nothing compared with Sunday morning. We had a lovely little thunderstorm first thing in the morning, complete with lightning strikes taking out radio towers and power transformers all over the place. It was fun. But it was extra humid during and just after the storm. It’s so strange for here. We’re used to our dry climate. Stepsisters 2006-07-24

Hm. I seem to have sidetracked onto the weather, didn’t I? I’m stitching Stepsisters on 32-count lambswool jobelin, two over two.

Great start on Stepsisters! And I think the skintones on Winding the Skeins look good, too. We’ve had horrid weather here, too. I hope the heat wave out your way breaks soon before the electrical grid does!
