Making up for lost time July 27, 2006
Can you
tell that I missed blogging yesterday? Between not having time, and Blogger being down when I did have time, I didn’t get any posts in yesterday at all. Without further ado, here’s another one!
On friends
At the very end of May a friend that I used to work with here in southern California, Mike, came out from his current home in Texas to visit a bunch of friends here. And we were on his list of must-sees. What do you know! A number of photos were taken that evening. Mike had his developed, then got some in the mail to us. I just got them the other day. We had a wonderful visit with Mike. It wasn’t difficult to talk him into using our guest room, since he was traveling on a shoestring budget. We had lots of time to talk that way. And to drink wine. Lots of wine. Mike complained later that he’d had too much wine. But he looks forward to
next time, and I’ll just bet that it won’t be at all difficult to get the same amount of wine into him. We won’t even have to hold him down and pour it into his throat. No. It’ll be much simpler than that.
Mike is the king of double entendres, puns, and just about any sort of play on words that be taken in a, well, in a way that can make someone blush. I’ve put just a couple little things in this post just for you, Mike. Enjoy.
Oh, the top photo is one Mike took of Dave and me that evening. The other is one I took of Dave (on the left) and Mike the next morning.
On knitting
I was browsing
around on Amazon the other day—Danger, Will Robinson!—and just happened to take another peek at Mason-Dixon Knitting. I was good. I didn’t buy it. It was difficult, though. But my non-purchase of this book I’ve found myself wanting of late was made a little easier, because Amazon actually provided two free patterns from the book!
On stitching
I’ve been a huge
fan (huge!) of Teresa Wentzler’s for years, ever since I first saw a leaflet for her Companions chart in a store. Companions was a current release back then. Yes, it’s been quite a while. Before you ask, of the several TW designs I’ve stitched, Companions isn’t one of them. Yet. It will be. It’s only a matter of time… Over the years, I’ve had a couple of occasions to exchange email with Teresa. She’s such a sweetie! So, in addition to being a great designer, she’s nice, too. Then I found her blog. And yesterday I found that she’s linked to me in her blogroll! How cool is that? Thank you, Teresa.

You’re famous! You’re on TW’s blogroll.
And I thought you were famous because you were on *my* blogroll! ;o)

Teresa Wentzler has a BLOG? Wow–off I go to check that out. I’ve been a big fan of hers for years, even though I’ve never acutally sewn any of her designs. I’d love to, but you know how it is . . . time is fleeting.

Goodness, what a motley crew!
I’m still waiting for my “Time with Mike” pictures to arrive!
If he had let me know sooner he was arriving, I’d have thrown him a party! I love a good party!
I’m back from my indentured servitude in Connecticut, and ready for a visit, if you are!
Call me!

Thank *you*, Laura!
