Stepsisters from The Silver Lining
I finished up
all of the top, right side of the blue flower. There is an awful lot of confetti stitching in there. Also finished that huge old green leaf between the top of the two flowers, including outlining it. And I got a good start on the lavender pansy. It’s surprising to me how many shades of gray are in the upper petal of that flower, and how few that even resemble lavender. It’s the results that count, however, and it is looking rather lavender-y, especially from a distance.
Mountain Peaks Lace shawl
Since a
lot of lace knitters lately seem to be showing the bumpier side of pre-blocked lace, I thought I’d show you a picture of how mine really looks at this point. So, here it is in all its glory, about a third of the way through the second repeat, bumps and all.
I think the close-up is even cooler.
In a way seeing knit lace at this stage, then seeing it in all its blocked glory reminds me of a monarch, and how it transforms from an ugly worm-like caterpillar into a gorgeous butterfly.

Stepsisters looks beautiful. I am somewhat surprised to hear that there is so much gray in there, but I guess it’s all about the shading when you’re working on something that looks that realistic. Your shawl is looking wonderful, as well. I love watching lace knitting progress.
