A couple things

The folks Nesting knitting needlesat Patternworks have come up with something I haven’t seen before… nesting knitting needles. They say they store easily, and are good for travel. The set includes what they think are the most common sizes: 2, 2.5, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10.5, and 10.75. Okay. The twos I can see… Good for ribbing. Maybe a new lace project. The 2.5s, though? And 10.75s? I fully admit to being out of the loop in a lot of ways, but I’ve never heard of 10.75s. And what about the 3s and 5s? I’ve used both those sizes a lot, and they’re not in this set. So, if I were traveling and planning on taking a full set of needles with me, I’d still have to bring other needles along to fill out the size range. Not that I would. Except for double pointed, I don’t use straight needles any more. But that’s just me.

Company incoming

My mom’s coming down for a visit. She arrives this afternoon, and is staying until Tuesday morning. While she’s here I have no idea how much time I’ll have for blogging. Most likely, nearly none. Please be patient with me. I will be back on Wednesday next week. Earlier if I can squeeze out a few minutes for myself.

But if you look at the mm sizes, there’s .25mm between the tip and the next size, but after that, it’s a .5mm between each increment. My guess is it’s an engineering thing. That just doesn’t correspond to US needle sizes . . .

Hey, and I noticed that you’re planning ahead for BTT, too!
