The home stretch September 28, 2006
When she was here,
I asked Mom what to do about those other two corners. She said to forget them, just start on the border. Good! A decision. Whoohoo! After Mom went home the other day, that’s exactly what I did. I picked up stitches around the entire perimeter of the blanket, including three stitches on each of the four corners. Here I’m taking a break, so the Gateway cow could pose with the blanket.
I knit two rounds, and purled two rounds
(not in that order) making a garter-stitch border, pausing part way through for another photo op. The cow found the basket-like knitting quite interesting. I don’t even want to know how many stitches I crammed onto these twenty-four inch size thirteen circular needles, but it was a lot. Desperately afraid at this point that I’d run out of yarn, I decided to end it all, and start the crochet bind off.

Coco held the yarn while I knit. She’s quite worried at this point that I won’t have enough yarn to finish binding off. I’m down to scraps at this point. I’d hoped to get the blanket finished by this time today, but I spent too many hours reformatting my blog. Ah well. There’s always tomorrow. One never knows, I may even finish it later this afternoon. There’s not much left…

I like the new look! Coco and the cow are cute too.
