Captcha

Or not. Sorry if you tried to post a comment this morning. We were trying to get a captcha program—those things where you type in the characters shown in the image—to work to help cut down on spam comments. Ha ha ha.
Everything’s backed out and should work as normally again.

Sock on

Monday, October 30, 2006

Seems it was a good idea to bring my Socktoberfest sock to my office. I got five more rows knit this afternoon. Yee-ha.

While sitting here knitting reading Yarn Harlot’s blog and seeing her gorgeous, newly finished feather and fan socks, I discovered that I don’t have a copy of Socks Socks Socks yet. I remember […]

They’re growing

Monday, October 30, 2006

My knitting and stitching projects are growing, that is.
Errant Ankles socks
As I suspected, my red sweater has been taking knitting precedence over the second Socktoberfest sock. I have started the sock, though. See? I think that’s about four rounds. Maybe five or six. I don’t even know. I decided that the better course of […]

Berroco
Now these are cool. Knit felted knitting needle and crochet hook cases with clever ways of holding the hooks and needles in place. I like these. They used alpaca for them, which obviously would be nice and soft, but seems a waste of such a lovely fiber to me. I’d rather wear it, and make […]

What season?

Thursday, October 26, 2006

I haven’t done one of these for a while. This one is so me. I love autumn, always did. It’s one of the things I miss most about living in southern California. I found this on Sara’s blog.

You belong in autumn

Writing in books

Thursday, October 26, 2006

Christine wants to know…

Do you make notes in books as you read them? I did when I was in college.
Why or why not? For most of my classes, it was the only way I could keep track of things, mark them as important to come back to, etc.
If you do, do you […]

Halloween edition

Thursday, October 26, 2006

Today’s SBQ was suggested by Carol and is:
If you were to come across a sampler chart that caught your eye and appealed to you, would you or would you not stitch it if it had a morbid or “creepy” saying on it? If not, why?
I have to say that if it had a morbid or […]

Knitting red, a pair of pumpkins, and a cat

Knitting red
I’m making progress on my red Green Gable sweater for the Red Sweater KAL. It’s hard to tell in this photo, but it really is big enough to go over my head. I’m knitting along (so far) on twenty-four inch circulars, so the knitting’s rather squished. At least, I hope it’ll go over my […]

Tuesday, October 24, 2006

Got a newsletter from Rowan today. They’re announcing a new collection called Rowan Studio. Here’s what the newsletter says:
We are delighted to announce the first collection from ROWAN Studio, a mid-season collection of up to the minute designs, influenced by the latest catwalk collections from all the major designers. The first collection contains six pieces, […]
