Mountain Peaks see the points 2006-10-20

I was alone in the house when I was ready to take pictures, so had to settle for a chair as a model. I love the way this turned out. Love, love, love it. I may have done one too many repeats of that first big chart… I say that because the shawl is wider than I thought it would be, and I had twelve border repeats to each side of the corner motif instead of the stated eleven. No harm done. I had plenty of yarn (ten grams left), and I like the larger size.

  • Yarn: KnitPicks Alpaca Cloud, 100% baby alpaca, lace weight, 72 grams and approximately 630 yards used
  • Color: moss
  • Needles: Addi Turbo, US 5 (3.75mm), 32 inch circular
  • Pattern: Mountain Peaks Lace Shawl
  • Elapsed time: early August to mid October
  • Lesson learned: don’t try to knit a complicated corner with yarn overs and purl-two-togethers on the front and back—yes, every row had them—while someone is talking who expects you to listen

Absolutely gorgeous. I lovet hat colour. I am doing the border of my mountain peaks shawl and approaching that pointed turn at the bottom. It’s good to see your finished shawl. Gives me little more motivation to reach the finish line

Oh my gosh! It turned out beautifully. I really like it and can’t wait for the day when I actually have time to learn how to knit lace. A wonderful finish! :)
