Knitting red, a pair of pumpkins, and a cat

Knitting red

I’m making progress on my red Red gable - 2006-10-25Green Gable sweater for the Red Sweater KAL. It’s hard to tell in this photo, but it really is big enough to go over my head. I’m knitting along (so far) on twenty-four inch circulars, so the knitting’s rather squished. At least, I hope it’ll go over my head. I have the right number of stitches, and I’m getting the right gauge, so it should.

Right?

Either way, the sheep are having fun. Weeeee!

A pair of pumpkins

Last year I didn’t see any pumpkins in the stores at all the week before Halloween, which is always when I look for them. How wrong is that? Aren’t these beauts? They make my mouth water. Nope. Not going to carve them up. At least not as jack-o-lanterns. They’ll be cooked and their innards turned into yummy homemade pumpkin pie by my ever-so-talented hubby, Dave. I can hardly wait. I’m salivating already. Yum!

Pumpkin 2 Pumpkin 1

The cooked pumpkin will be frozen in freezer bags, two cups to a bag. Then when we’re ready to make a pie, we just take some out, thaw it, add spices and milk and stuf, whip up a crust, and we’ve got some of the best pumpkin pie out there. So yummy.

A cat

This falls under the category of, “Mom! Gawd. I still have dots in front of my eyes from the last picture you took!”

Hey just found your blog and web ring after looking thru the meetup web site. I’m thrilled you’re going to create a new ring for us CA knitters! Thanks for taking the initiative.
