Sock it to me

Yes, I am still working on Errant ankles sock - 2006-11-30my second Errant Ankles sock. It’s not that I’m displeased with it. Actually, I’m still loving it. It’s just a time thing. I simply had to knit my red shell. Then I knit the pinwheel lap blanket for Dave. I knew the weather was going to turn any day, and wanted him to have a nice warm lap. So, see? I’ve been busy!

Here’s a closeup of the pattern stitch (click to enlarge). I love it! And it’s a very easy pattern to memorize.

But for now, until the yarn comes*, I’m working on my sock. Day before yesterday I finished up the heel flap and started turning the heel. Yesterday I finished turning the heel, and started working on the gussets. Looking good.

Speaking of the pinwheel… I thought I’d show you before and after pictures of the stash I used for this. My yarn pile went from this:

And, well, this.

* Yes, I ordered yarn today for three small Christmas presents. I sure hope it gets here soon. At least one of the “small” presents will take a little time… Egads! And I still have yarn to procure for a fourth present. I wonder if I have anything here that will work… The problem with that is that my mother (the recipient) can’t wear wool, mohair, alpaca, well, any animal fibers. And most of my stash is wool. Because I can wear it.

So, much, yarn! WOW! And it came out very nicely. Wonderful design!
I’m like your mother, no animal fibers for me, at least that I know of yet. Even the scratchier of the synthetics are no-no’s for me.
