Sock progress

It’s actually working this time. Toe up sock 2007-01-20 - 2This is the progress I made on Saturday. This first shot here.

I knit a bunch on Sunday while watching the playoffs. The Colts/Patriots game was fun, wasn’t it? All I want in a football game: evenly matched teams, lots of scoring, tons of excitement, down to the last minutes of the game.Toe up sock 2007-01-23 - 2 It’s even more fun when you don’t really care who wins!

Anyway, Sunday I knit up the length of the foot, did the short-row heel—that took a couple of tries using Wendy’s heel, but I got it—and started the ribbing. I decided to work a two-by-two rib up the whole cuff. Oh, and I decided to use Wendy’s short-row heel, because the pattern that I’ve been loosely following called for an after-thought heel, and I didn’t want one of those. Toe up sock 2007-01-23 - 1I’ve changed so many things in that pattern, that it’s looking like I probably should have tried a different one instead. LOL

It fits my foot, and the knitting is (finally) going smoothly… With the possible exception of the number of stitches around the ankle. Does that look tight to you? It feels okay. I guess. It’s hard to tell, really, with those knitting needles there.
