Page one down… February 15, 2007
I am still totally loving working on this Iris Quickstitch from Heaven and Earth Designs. Loving it. I have officially finished
page one of the chart. There are three more pages this size, and five smaller ones yet to do.
The nickel is there for size reference, so you can see how little space 5,187 stitches takes up. It’d be 5,200 stitches, but I left a couple on the edges that I think will be easy to fill in when I get to those spots… Less starting and stopping of threads for one little stitch.
I started page two before lunch was done. Yippee! I know. I said I was going to swap at this point, and pick up Stepsisters again. That one just isn’t screaming as loudly as page two was, so I continued with this pattern. For now.
On the sock front, I knit the heel flap and turned the heel this morning. Don’t know how much I’ll get done on it the next few days. I have to get ready for a dinner party on Saturday for eight of our closest friends, and possible houseguests Saturday night as a result of that party. We haven’t had a nice dinner party like this for a long time. Our chef, our friend Ron—who will also be dining with us—is quite excited to be cooking and dining here again. He’s planned a five-course meal for us with five different wines, one for each course. I have the menu right here. Should be yummy. In fact, I know it’ll be yummy. He’s really a very good cook.

Lets see…. your socks are all in blues & greens, your cross-stitch is in blues & greens … are you going through a phase? I think they are all absolutely stunning though! GORGEOUS!!
Good luck with your 2nd interview on Friday. I’m sending all my good vibes your way that you get the job. Enjoy your dinner Saturday night. Of course I’m expecting a full report about what you ate & what you drank!

I was thinking the same thing as Kristie. This is Laura’s blue/green period. It even matches your fiberdreams header. I also agree that everything is looking mighty gorgeous.
I haven’t returned to my sock as I’ve been too busy with stitching deadlines. I did frog it back a ways, but I really think I may start over though. I don’t like the very top of the cuff anyway and I think I’ll be much happier all the way around if I just scratch it and begin anew.
Oh, and what’s a quick stitch HAED? It looks to be over one, so is it just an overall smaller picture?

I always expect you to have some kind of blue somewhere!!! The way you love the ocean and, well, flowers too! The HAED is looking fantabulous, as usual. The socks are coming right along. Mine are ready for me to start my first toe ever….. this should be interesting.
