Next, please

Had the second interview this afternoon. Not really sure how it went. The first one, earlier in the week, was great. Talked to one guy for two hours, we got along well, saw eye-to-eye on things. It seemed good.

Then today I saw him again, as well as two new people. The second new guy was great. We got on well, each said a few things, you know, blah, blah, blah. On the same page regarding the job, the skills, that stuff. That was fine. The first new guy, though, is troublesome. He wants different skills than I have, and was, to me, to my person, adamant about it. It’s clear. I can’t help him. He wants a project manager, and I’m not one. The irritating thing was that my resume and portfolio were there in their office, on his desk, since Tuesday, and he didn’t bother to look at either until I was sitting there. He also left part way through—without excusing himself—to answer the phone on his desk in the other room, then talked to that person for a good ten minutes. Well, needless to say, I wasn’t impressed. And, clearly, everyone involved there needs to sit down together and discuss what kind of person they really need, nail down the role they need to fill.

After all the waiting, talking to the two new guys, the original one again, briefly, I was there only an hour today.

I told Dave about what happened, and he swore. That first guy? Dave said that guy is supposed to be the project manager. Doh. So, who knows. I’m supposed to hear next week. I’m not holding my breath at this point.

On a happier note, I had a little knitting time today, so picked up the stitches for the gussets, and knit a few rounds. The sock progresses! And the afghan is nearly done. Only have three rows and binding off left to do, then the fringe, and that’s that. Yippee!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog Laura. I appreciate your words a lot. It’s so hard to lose our darling furry ones. (my email to you bounced so I am posting it here…)

    Thanks again.

If you’ll be working in conjunction with the guy that acted like an arse, maybe it’s somewhere you don’t want to work? Is he a direct reflection on internal company issues? Something to think about. I’m sorry it didn’t go as you’d hoped & expected, but the right thing will come along for you, I know it.

I can’t believe the afghan is almost done! WOW! I can’t wait to see it!

You have to love that one guy who throws off the whole process, don’t you? I’ll be curious to see if his stupidity carries weight with the rest of the team or not. If it does, you probably wouldn’t want to work with them anyway. ;)
