A little fringe February 26, 2007
I didn’t get as much done as I wanted to over the weekend, but I did most of the fringe for the first side
done. Most of it. Would have been more, but our neighbors got home earlier than expected, and we went over there… Would have been a real mess to take a fringing project along with me. No matter how much I wanted to.
Anyway… Here’s the teaser photo. The partial fringe job on the afghan for Mom. ![]()
I haven’t worked on the sock since the wee hours on Thursday night (or would that be Friday morning). I have most of the toe done now. I didn’t think the difference would be worth a photo at this point, especially since I’m likely to finish up that first sock some time today. I’ll give you an updated when that happens. ![]()
The Melon Shawl is coming along nicely. I’ve gotten into a groove with it. The pattern’s easy enough to do, yet has enough going on to keep the knitting interesting. If I counted right—hard to do off the photo,
and I’m too lazy to go upstairs and check in real life—I have completed nineteen of the required sixty-two pattern repeats so far. That’s thirty percent of the center panel done. If I don’t work on the afghan fringe, I might make it to a third done this evening.
It’s finally gotten large enough that Dave no longer thinks it looks like a corset.
This yarn is amazingly fuzzy. Astounding, really.
This is what my view looked like on Friday morning. It rained here Thursday night, and was fairly cold. Obviously, it was quite a bit colder up in the mountains. They probably got more snow up there last night. Maybe today, too, as it’s still quite cool out, and it’s all cloudy. I just wish it’d rain some more.

ooohhhh~ ahhhhhhh~ gorrrrgeous~
That fringe really adds the perfect finishing touch doesn’t it? It’s looking beautiful as well as your sock, but words can’t express the beauty of the melon shawl! Stay tuned for my Stitches update part two. I have something related to your shawl to share!!

The shawl is so delicate and that yarn is incredibly fuzzy! I think you were able to capture that well in your closeup photo.
