The blue dresser March 18, 2007
More paint is coming off the dresser. Dave’s made more progress on it this morning, but here’s what it looked like when he was done yesterday afternoon.
Camera woes
I apologize for the quality of the photographs. I took them with the camera in my cell phone. I turned on my Cybershot yesterday to take pictures of the dresser, but it’s suddenly throwing fits and refusing to let me see through the view finder, or do anything. After some testing, we determined that either the memory stick died or the camera did. I don’t know which I prefer it to be. Depends on how much memory sticks cost these days, assuming they even make them that work in this old camera any more. Arg. The thing worked fine on Friday. Arg.
In the chance that it’s the camera that died, I’m going to need a new one. If you blog and love your digital camera, give a shout; let me know what you have, please. If I have to replace it, I want something that does tight close-ups—can’t live without getting as close as possible to yummy yarn and delicate flowers—as well as good distance shots. I’m off to do some research…
Melon
Meanwhile, I’m working merrily along on my Melon shawl. I turned the first corner this morning, and am now working away at the top edge where the live stitches are. The corner was easier to work than I thought it might be. And quite fun. Very satisfying.
1, 2, 3, rotate
I finally rotated away from the Iris quickstitch. I’m working on Stepsisters now. I’ll post a photo of where I stopped on Iris when I can take reasonable pictures again—arg. I’ll probably update the sidebar with the number of stitches stitched on Monday. Unless something else starts screaming loudly, I’ll probably work on Stepsisters until I finish it up. It’s more than half way done, so it shouldn’t take all that long. Relatively speaking.

I’ve got a 6.1 megapixel Cybershot that’s very nice. Found it on eBay, slightly used, with a 1GB memory stick. Don’t rule out eBay when you go shopping, sometimes you can get awesome deals. I paid $160 for a package worth $250.

Actually, for a camera phone, those photos look pretty good!
What type of budget do you have for your new camera? Currently I have a Cannon Elph that I love, but after reading quite a few camera reviews, I think I’ll get the Cannon Powershot Pro Series S3 as my next camera. Here’s the link for the info on amazon:

Good luck!

I have the canon rebel xt. I bought it because the lenses from my film canon fit the digital camera. It is a bit pricey, so if you’re not serious about photography then it is probably not what you’re looking for. I own a 35-70 lens and 50-300 zoom. I’d also like to get a macro lens for those upclose shots. If you’d like me to bring it by so you can look, touch and snap away, let me know.

I have the Canon Rebel XTI and love love love it! But it’s not very portable, I can’t justy pull it out for a quick pic. that’s th eonly downside.

I love our camera Laura, we have a Canon Power Shot A70. It’s very easy to use and I don’t think you can go wrong with Canon.
