Delightful

Absolutely delightful. Aren’t they? I just love African Violets. I mean. How could anyone not? Look at those charming little flowers. And the buds. Make African violet 2007-03-22sure you get in close so you can see the flower buds down there, nestled between the leaves. Tucked down there under a leaf on the lower right side of the page is a tiny bud. Violets grow so slowly that it’ll be at least a week—probably be closer to two—before that tiny flower bud is tall enough to stand above the leaves—more buds here. Life in slow motion. Fabulous.

And then there’s the melon shawl. Loving it! Got farther along the second edge yesterday. I’m still delighted with knitting this, and how it’s turning out. I think it’ll be elegant when it’s all done and blocked out.

Iris 2007-03-22

Finally, the promised photograph of where I left of with the HAED Iris quick stitch over the weekend. Yes, I finally rotated. But never fear. I’m still stitching flowers. I rotated back to the pansies in Silver Lining’s Stepsisters. After stitching over one on twenty-five count fabric, the Xs made over two on thirty-two count fabric seem huge.

I’ll leave you with a delightful picture of my kitty. I took several shots of her this morning. In one of the others her expression was more one of “Just take the picture and leave, so I can go back to my nap.” With hardly moving a muscle, this one looks serene. Mostly.

You’re accomplishing some MAJOR knitting right now. WOW! When do you think the shawl will be complete? We need to schedule a get-together for me to see it finished. Besides, I’ve got to get back to Velona’s anyway for some baby knitting yarn.

That’s a GREAT photo of Ricki .. personality and all!
