Knitting news

I’m late in sharing one of last week’s free patterns from Berroco. I actually Wanda sweaterlike this one. It’s called Wanda, a sweet short-sleeved spring cardigan with nice cable detailing.

I was planning on sharing this week’s free patterns from Berroco, but they were too awful. The only thing they had going for them was that they were modeled by this woman. She’s gorgeous, but that can carry bad design only so far.

I got an update from Patternworks this morning. Well, I got it in my inbox this morning. Who knows how long it’s been stuck in the spam folder. Of the two sweaters on this page, I like the one on the lower right best. Don’t know that I’d ever knit (or wear) it—if I did it certainly wouldn’t be in that color—but I like it. You can buy the pattern here. Ivy Trellis Lace Stole

Last but not least, HeartStrings FiberArts is releasing three new shawl patterns, shipping them to stores on March 29. This one’s my favorite of the three, the Ivy Trellis Lace Stole. The others are just as beautiful… Peggy’s Shawl and Faceted Gems Lace Wrap.

If you haven’t already figured it out, I do carry the HeartStrings patterns, so I’ll be getting them soon after they’re shipped. If you want to pre-order any of the three new patterns from me, shipping to U.S. addresses is only $1.50, plus $.50 for any additional HeartStrings pattern. Just send me a note to get on my list.

I like the Wanda sweater, however, why don’t they show the front view? Is there something horribly wrong with it? Does it not drape well and therefore they decided not to photograph it?
