I finished up the melon shawl over the weekend, including weaving in all the ends and blocking it. As soon as this fog lifts I’ll get some pictures of it for you. I love the way it turned out. I’m really glad I got that fourth ball of Kidsilk Haze, because I used up all but eight grams of it. Though I followed the pattern exactly, my shawl blocked out wider than called for. This may have something to do with it, but I think I would have needed that fourth ball of yarn anyway.

I also finished knitting the knitting bag, practiced grafting by grafting the two edges together at the bottom of the bag, and mattress stitched up the sides and wove in all the ends. Now I need to see if I have some fabric in the back room that will make a nice lining for this, sew that up, take the handles off the old bag, and finish it. Pictures of that are pending a clearing the the weather, too.

One of my local friends signed up for my Harry Potter read along as soon as I told her about it. She doesn’t stitch or knit, but she’s a voracious reader. Thanks for joining, Beth!
