It’s amazing how much I can get knit on a sock in a day when I don’t have any other knitting projects on the go, and carry the sock from room to room with me. This said, don’t think that
stitching on the pansies is lagging, as it’s not. Got a lot done in that regard yesterday, too. Oh, and yesterday I knit enough at one sitting to notice blue dye on my hands from the yarn. It washed off easily, but I’ll have to take care the first number of times I wash these socks that there’s nothing light colored in the washer with them.
I’m a bit behind in reading blogs, too much accounting of late. Now that I’m done getting my tax stuff ready for the accountant I’m starting the move from Quicken and my little Filemaker database to QuickBooks. Gads, what a lot of work. I think, I hope!, it will be worthwhile in the end. Certainly my accountant will prefer it, as I’ll be able to give him a computer file instead of tons of paperwork to wade through.
But I digress.
Yesterday I was reading Anne’s blog, a post now several days old, and she shared a link to a Fearless Fibers laceweight merino wool. Oh. My. That is gorgeous. Anne has some she’s knitting, and reports that it’s a dream. Love the price, too.
In a recent newsletter, KnitPicks is featuring this lace-heart top. They say it’s a tank top for summer. So, uh,
why’s the model wearing a blouse under it? They say it’s fitted, but you wouldn’t know it for the bulge that the blouse makes. I hope there’s a better picture of the top in the book that has the pattern, Classic Knits for Real Women—a title, by the way, that I take exception to. Just because I’m not a plus-size woman doesn’t mean I’m not real. Doh. I do like the yarn that KnitPicks used, though. It’s a new cotton/linen blend. Comes in some luscious colors. I love the red.
Speaking of KnitPicks. They’ve started a podcast. I haven’t listened to the first episode yet, but hope to get to it today. Maybe I’ll be able to listen to it while I’m entering stuff in QuickBooks.
In the news
Dave wanted me to share this tidbit with you. Do any of you listen to Internet radio? Dave does all the time, and he wants to be able to continue to. Seems the Copyright Royalty Board has decided to increase the royalties Internet radio stations pay to such an extent that it would put them all out of business. Interested? Save the Streams has a support page. Read the FAQ—the results of the simple math they show are astounding. The rates they’re asking for stun me.

Sheri put some new yarns up on her site this morning, pointed me to some reds… One of which I loved, Cider Moon’s Cayenne. But I decided to go another way completely, and get some Fleece Artist merino in Woodland.

Conwy is looking beautiful Laura. I use Quickbooks everyday, either at home or at work. Very easy to use once all the info is entered and you can get very detailed reports or very simple reports. I love it. Good luck. Yea, what’s with the blouse under the tank? I don’t think I like it that way, it does look bulky.

Great minds think alike! I had both the Cayenne and Woodland in my shopping cart, but when I let DH narrow down my choices, they got cut. oh well I still ended up getting 3 nice skeins.
I had NO IDEA that Fearless Fibers was doing laceweight yarn. I bought her sock yarn and gave it to my sister for Christmas and she loves it. The price is definitely right. KnitPicks podcast? Hmmmm… I may have to “try” that one.
Your sock looks GORGEOUS!
