Conwy sock one

I finished the first sock last night, and promptly cast on for the second. The first one fits like a, uh, glove? Well, it fits just right. Still loving this easy-knitting yarn.

I finally remembered to take a picture at the pump last week when I got gas. This was Price of gaspart way through filling up. I bought fifteen gallons of gas, and it cost me $52 and change. At least the price of gas has stopped going up for now. As I was going through my bills for last year a couple weeks ago, I saw that this time last year gas cost about the same thing, then it dropped a bit for the summer and winter months. I’m definitely looking forward to that happening again. Green car

When I went to the post office last week, this old green car was parked out back. Sorry the picture isn’t any better. I took it with the camera in my cell phone. I thought the car was pretty cool, so I’m sharing.

Today is the 46th anniversary of Russia beating us into space by sending Yuri Gagarin up there.

Today is also National Licorice Day. If you like the stuff. I don’t. Ick. Can’t stand the smell of it. Though the thought of licorice always reminds me of my dad, who loved the old-fashioned black licorice ropes. To him they were a bit of nirvana. I used to buy them for him, and send one or two along for his birthday or Father’s Day. He’d go in the backyard to eat them.

Done grasping at blog-fodder straws for now. Enjoy your day. Hope you don’t get too much snow.

Beautiful sock Laura. Love the color. Blue and bergundy (maroon), are always my first choices for colors for anything. Gas just went up here in Northern MI to 2.91 per gallon. Yuck!! I hate it, my truck holds 34 gallons, needless to say I don’t fill it too often anymore. Just enough to get me where I’m going. We are still under snow advisories. I’d say we got about 8 in. last night. My poor gardens are so confused………

BTW, I think the car is an old Packard. I’ll ask DH tonight when he gets home, or do you know what it is?

It *DOES* look like it fits like a glove. WOW! Nicely knit!

I noticed gas prices also went up overnight. My local gas station went up 4 cents a gallon from last night to this morning. Dangit!

My husband loves black licorice too, but only a brand called “Panda”. I find that most people either love the stuff or despise it. Isn’t that interesting?

I asked DH about the car and he’s not sure what it is (although he claims to know everything). He said a Hudson, but might be a Packard. Do you know what it is?

I love the colorway of that sock!

Gas prices–don’t go there, gf. Filling the SUV has put a major dent in my yarn/stitching budget! :) I have decided that I refuse to put more than $40 in the truck at one time–pretty soon that might get me–what–a quarter of a tank? LOL. I can’t tell from the picture but your prices in California have got to be really high compared to other spots. Ours is about 2.75 a gallon right now I think(maybe higher it seems to change hourly).

The gas thing is okay since it gives us more time to catch up on tv/movie viewing, right? Three cheers for Robin Hood!

Did your Dave agree with my Dave about the cars identity?

Great sock! I really have to make some time someday to try to knit a simple pair for myself. As for gas, all I have to say is thank goodness we bought our Civic Hybrid last January. ;)
