Eight random things May 9, 2007
I’ve been tagged twice for this meme, first by Rachel then by Melissa, which means I’d better do it before anyone else tags me. First, the rules:
- Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
- People who are tagged write a blog post about their own 8 random things and post these rules.
- At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names.
- Don’t forget to leave them a comment and tell them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Here you go:
- I learned how to fly an owl when I was a young teen, and would love to fly a falcon… but not to hunt, just to watch it soar. And the experience of having it return to my outstretched glove. Edited to add: The thought of that bird of prey swooping down to land on my fist makes my heart go pitty-pat.
- I’ve had rides in: a WWI bi-plane and a seaplane. Both were absolutely incredible. One was because of my dad, the other with him.
- I felt like I was soaring when SCUBA diving and swimming out over the top edge of a reef that dropped thousands of feet into an abyss below me.
- I went to Mexico by myself (with a group, but without my parents) when I was 17, and to Europe (same deal, different group) when I was 18.
- I came to within 18 units of a bachelor degree in computer science with a minor in business and never finished, and have absolutely no intention of ever correcting this oversight.
- I don’t like most green vegetables. They don’t taste done to me.
- I give money to help animals.
- I have a sense of humor that sometimes takes people by surprise.
And now to tag people. I hereby tag: Kristie, Kim, Jenna, Deb, Veronica, Nicki, Angela, and Caroline.

Too funny, Laura! I came to within 22 credits of the same major (my minor was Aeronautical Engineering) and also dropped out. I do hope to finish mine at some point though.

Yay! You’ve tagged me for my first meme.
I totally understand the degree thing. So much of it is just jumping through senseless hoops. When I finish my thesis, I am through. I’m only going to read books I like and write letters instead of papers.
Oh my gosh! I LOVE your “forget-me-not” socks.

Oh crap. I’m so not any good at these things, but I’ll do my best.
I love reading about all your random things though. You are one of the most interesting people I’ve ever had the pleasure to get to know.

I posted my list. I’m cranky today so I think my list reflects my state of mind right now :)

I answered, but the post is scheduled for tomorrow, so you’ll have to wait a little bit. ;)
