Needle mania

Today’s SBQ was suggested by Kathryn.

How many needles do you use during a project? Have you ever loaded up a needle for every color? Do you use a new needle for every project or recycle your favorite needle?

I use one needle for multiple projects. When I rotate I put the empty needle on my needle magnet, and move the whole shebang to the next project. I have never used a different needle for every color—I’m sure I’d just get myself confused and get things all mixed up. I can see it now, especially if I were stitching one of Teresa Wentzler’s designs with those similar color blends she uses for shading. Oy. Can you say, “Disaster”? I’ve been using the same John James petite needle—which I use for both stitching and beading—for a couple of years now, and it’s still working quite well for me.

Elsewhere…

I’m stitching quite happily on Winding the Skeins again, and have made some awesome progress. I hope to have a picture for you later today, if not then tomorrow. We’ll see how I’m doing this afternoon. You see, the day has finally come for that pesky root canal. I’ll be there at 9:30 this morning, Pacific time zone. Wish me luck!

Girlfriend, you are blessed with non-corrosive fingertips if you’ve been using the same needle for years! I go through them with every project (small ones, not your mondo BAPs). :)
