Flowers June 4, 2007
Have you ever noticed that I sort of have a thing for flowers? Well, I fed it last week. I heard that The Silver Lining was having a little sale, not on the web site, but through email only, only some of the patterns are on sale, but the discount is amazing.
I did what any red-blooded American stitcher would do. I broke down and bought some patterns.
They arrived on Saturday. For me, this is quite a haul. I think the last time I bought any patterns was at Christmas when Terri gave me a little late birthday present in the form of a gift certificate to one of her favorite stores. Before that? I honestly don’t know the last time I bought any cross stitch patterns. But I digress. I bought seven patterns. Marc also included a copy of this year’s ornament freebie (signed). He jotted a nice little note on my invoice, too. He’s such a nice man! Anyway, I got these patterns: Smiling Faces I and II (packaged together, two white pansy patterns), Red Pansies, Ruby Pansies, The Gossips (more pansies), Harmony (a purple rose), Wanda (a yellow rose), and Gay Parasol (pink iris). For all that I only spent $14 plus shipping. Woot!
There are, naturally, more of his patterns that I really want, but they weren’t on the sale list, so I was good and didn’t buy them.

Winding the Skeins
Dave was off playing Halo with the boys on Saturday evening, so I got some good stitching time in, and made noticeable progress.
Knitting
I got more done on the green shawl over the weekend. It feels like it’s going super slowly, but I’m sure it’s just because the rows are so long now. I only have about thirty rows left, though, so the end is approaching. Finally. I don’t know why I’m so bored with this pattern. Maybe it’s that except for the edge stitches where the increases are it’s really only a four-row repeat.
No progress was made at all on the socks this weekend, but that’s normal. Hopefully I’ll be able to get something done on them today.

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, link PLEASE! I don’t know if I would ever manage to complete one of his designs, but at that price, I would definitely give it a go!
