Market bag: done

I sometimes think I need to knit more quick projects like this. It’s amazingly satisfying. And now I have this nifty bag to take with Market bag 2007-06-25 2me when I remember to go to the farmer’s market on Wednesday mornings. It’ll make carrying all those bags of veggies tons easier.

  • Pattern: Saturday Market Bag by Jodie Danenberg.
  • Yarn: Euroflax linen, 1 hank
  • Needles: Addi Turbo 24 inch US13, and Knit Picks Options US9
  • Elapsed time: June 14 through June 23.
  • Notes: The bag called for size 15 and 10-1/2 needles. Since I don’t own 15 circulars, I went down to what I do have, US13s. I added an extra couple of repeats, and a couple extra rows to the pattern to make up for my smaller needles.

Great work! That looks like a very handy bag. :)

I take a canvas bag to the Farmer’s Market, but that pattern is very tempting. I love the occasional quick project for reassurance I’m not a slacker and a burst of incentive to get on with bigger things. Let us know how its maiden voyage goes.

Too pretty to use for sure!

Very nice! Do you think that pattern would work with kitchen cotton? I have a lot of that–I was going to knit pretty washcloths for my MIL and then she re-decorated her bathroom and changed colors.

That looks great in the linen. I have some in stash, and have looked at that pattern, but that combination didn’t occur to me - I may have to appropriate your idea!

Oh crap! Now I’m *really* feeling the urge to purchase some yarn to make one of those bags too. NICE JOB!!
