Found: 1 knitting needle

Woot! Found it. Nope. It hadn’t rolled off onto the floor. It wasn’t hiding under any papers. It was sitting calmly on my desk, in the shadow of the edge Needle and stylus foundof my desk phone, and completely invisible from where I normally sit. I saw it when I was standing, looking ever closer, as the spare stylus for my cell phone was also mysteriously missing, from an angle I don’t normally obtain.

And there they both were.

Hiding.

In plain sight, so long as you are looking from the correct angle.

I joyfully grabbed my knitting, knit around to the top of the sock where the fourth needle is most useful when knitting gussets, and inserted it into the mix. The gusset is now officially knit. I have 3½ pattern repeats left to do before decreasing for the toe begins. There’s a light at the end of the sock tunnel. Woohoo!

Another joyous event: the release of the fourth clue for the mystery shawl. Melanie announced that as of the completion of the third clue, the shawl should be 1/3 of its total length. As mine is about 32 inches at this point, slightly stretched, I think it’ll be about perfect without having to lengthen or shorten it. I can simply follow the pattern as written, and it’ll be just the right length.

Needle found, gusset under way, and mystery shawl on target. It seems your mojo is back from The Doldrums!

    So . . . Harry?? What’d you think? I’m surprised you didn’t answer this week’s BTT, actually, since it was Harry-themed! I can’t believe it’s over…..

I lost a regular knitting needle one time and tore the house apart looking for it. I was finally resigned to just forgetting about it, A week later, my husband and I were getting out of the car to go to my son’s soccer game and there was my knitting needle by the side of a car parked next to us! It was a a plastic Bryson one and was kind of bent and nicked badly, pretty much unusable. I must have lost it at the game the week before. It was kind of funny but sad:(

I’m glad your needle showed up in good shape.

I’ve missed so many posts last week didn’t I? Obviously I got caught up quite a bit just by visiting with you on Saturday, but it was fun to read it all here too! Thank goodness you found your needle. You didn’t tell me about that mini-drama!
